Overview

Valentis Cancer Hospital in Meerut isn't just another healthcare facility. It's where cutting-edge technology meets precise diagnostic capabilities through advanced PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning. PET scans have transformed disease diagnosis, staging, and management, especially in oncology, cardiology, neurology, and infectious diseases. But at Valentis, it's not just about having PET—it's about having one of the industry's best: GE Healthcare's Discovery IQ 3-Ring PET/CT scanner

Why Discovery IQ Is A Game-Changer At Valentis?

GE Healthcare's Discovery IQ 3-Ring scanner redefines imaging standards with its sophisticated LightBurst PET detector. The tech behind it ensures exceptional clarity, capturing even the smallest lesions clearly, at substantially reduced radiation doses. For patients, this means less radiation, faster scans, and ultimately, fewer anxieties.

  • Sharper, Faster Images: Discovery IQ's advanced detectors slash traditional PET scanning times by nearly half, making the process quicker and considerably more comfortable for patients.
  • Low-Dose Excellence: By significantly cutting the radiation dose, this machine delivers safety without compromising diagnostic clarity. It’s especially critical for patients who require repeated scans.
  • Unmatched Sensitivity: With the highest NEMA sensitivity (up to 22 cps/kBq), the scanner rapidly and accurately identifies tiny lesions, crucial for early cancer detection and follow-ups.
  • Quantitative Precision with Q.Clear: The unique Q.Clear PET reconstruction technology doubles image quality and sharply enhances the accuracy of standardized uptake value (SUV) measurements—a key indicator in oncology diagnostics

PET CT Imaging Analysis
Powered by TPPL

At Valentis Cancer Hospital, PET CT imaging analysis and reporting are enhanced through an exclusive partnership with Theranostic Physicians Private Limited (TPPL). TPPL ensures exceptional credibility and precision in reporting, meticulous quality maintenance, expert radio ligand labeling, and stringent safety protocols. This strategic collaboration guarantees robust, precise, and trusted diagnostic reporting, providing patients with assured quality and confidence in the PET CT Centre.

Patient-Centric Approach At Valentis

Before patients undergo a PET scan at Valentis, a meticulous preparation protocol ensures accurate outcomes:

Preparation

  • Low-carbohydrate, sugar-free diet pre-scan.
  • No strenuous exercise, caffeine, tobacco, or alcohol.
  • Detailed medical consultation to document conditions, allergies, pregnancy status, breastfeeding, or metal implants.

Procedure

  • A radiotracer (commonly FDG, along with Oxygen-15, Fluorine-18, Carbon-11, Nitrogen-13) is administered intravenously.
  • After a brief waiting period (30-60 minutes), allowing tracer distribution, scanning commences, typically lasting under 30 minutes.
  • Combined PET-CT scans involve initial CT imaging followed immediately by PET.

Post-Procedure

  • Patients typically resume daily activities immediately, awaiting prompt and precise results from specialists.

Safety First

While PET is remarkably safe, certain precautions are essential:

  • PET is typically avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless clearly indicated.
  • Special accommodations for individuals who are claustrophobic or unable to remain still during scans.
  • Ensuring diabetic patients maintain controlled glucose levels for optimal scan accuracy.
  • Recent chemotherapy or radiation therapy may necessitate scheduling adjustments to prevent interference with PET results.
